Africa Biosystems Limited (ABL) is pleased to announce an exciting exclusive agreement with Camag, a leading manufacturer of instrumentation for Planar Chromatography. Camag has developed state-of-the-art instrumentation and software for Modern Thin Layer Chromatography for use in modern laboratories. Planar Chromatography is used in clinical applications, food and feedstuff, forensics, environment, pharmaceutical applications, herbals and cosmetics.

ABL managing director Yasmin Verjee says, “We are very pleased that Camag products are part of our portfolio. Camag is a globally recognized, high-quality brand and introducing its planar chromatography technology to the Eastern African markets will be an exciting venture”

ABL will exclusively distribute this product in Eastern Africa. ABL is also uniquely positioned to provide technical support services on the ground both for Camag products through our partner company Helix Biotech.

Africa Biosystems Limited (ABL) is committed to fighting diseases on the continent and  saving lives.  ABL, along with Applied Biosystems (Part of Life Technologies) is co-sponsoring the joint third African Epidemiology network (AFENET) and Public Health Interventions Network (TEPHINET) regional scientific conference.   It will be held in Mombasa, Kenya from August 31 to September 4 2009.

The theme of the conference is "One Health" and will deal with the Burden of Disease (HIV, Tuberculosis, Malaria), Zoonosis, and non-communicable diseases.The conference will also address cutting edge vaccine development, roles of laboratory in public health investigations and interventions, migration and disease, and the impact of climate change on emerging and re-emerging disease.
